Youthful Experience

A clinic participant works on her left hand lay-up footwork!

Last night my coaching staff and I along with one of our team members held a youth clinic in Mason, OH at Kings Junior High.  It was a blast to be on the court teaching this awesome game to eager 4th-6th graders for two hours. As is typical, I had 8 categories of skills to cover and we only got to 5 of them.  There is so much to teach and so little time! I encouraged the youth players to soak in everything they get to learn about the game, including watching it whenever they can.  The two hours we spent with them barely chipped the tip of the ice berg - there is so much to learn about this game! In two hours they impacted my life by coming in on a school night and working hard at the skills we helped them further develop - a great experience to interact with our youth.

LET’S GO KNIGHTS!!! Coach J and staff (and Dani, too!), Thank you from the bottom of our Lady Knights hearts for your committment to enrich and empower our girls youth sports program. The 40+ girls who attended we’re so excited and learned so much. We look forward to bringing our new skills and habits to the floor. Girls Rule!! Hoops for life!!

Thanks for the great clinic and creating more enthusiasm for basketball in the Kings school district! With your help, my daughter is looking forward to taking on her two brothers and making those left-handed lay-ups she’s shown practicing above.

Best wishes for a successful season,

    Tom
