Thanksgiving break!

I’m finally back from Thanksgiving break! It was really really nice to be home for the first time in three months. Bascially, I spent most of Wednesday traveling home, which I don’t recommend. Mostly everyone leaves on Monday or Tuesday, so I was one of two people on my floor! It wasn’t that bad when I ordered Domino’s and watched tv (I mean, who can go wrong with Domino’s anyways?).  On Thanksgiving morning, I went to the Turkey Bowl in my hometown, which is basically a football game against our rivals (New Canaan). We lost by one point but it was a really good game and I ran into a lot of my old classmates. Obviously, I spent Thanksgiving at home and the rest was just nights hanging out with my friends: Starbucks, seeing the movie Enchanted, and playing guitar hero. Nothing big but I didn’t care. I’m kind of sad to be back right now because three days at home after three months of being away is definitley not enough time, but one of the good things about our schedule is I’ll be home in another two weeks. I just have to tackle finals head on and get them over with. Knowing my procrastination skills, this could possibly be a little difficult…

Regionals/the end of the season

Sorry I haven’t written in a while, but it has been a busy week. Last Saturday, our team went up to Michigan for our regionals meet. The hotel was…well…interesting. lol. I don’t know how else to put it in a nicer way. We all just hung out and talked late into the night before the next morning. I’m proud to say I got third for our team and beat a senior teamate that usually is in front of me. It makes me kind of feel bad because it was her last meet and I beat her, but it’s all the better for me I guess. Later on that night, I went out and celebrated the end of the season with my team for a bit. Being the dork I am, I left early to go study for a sociology exam that I had on Monday.  Otherwise, this week has been kind of stressful. I studied all day Monday for this exam, had a paper due Tuesday, and have two more papers due this coming Monday. It’s just that part of the year when teachers push a lot of work on you before breaks and you just have to deal with it. This week won’t totally suck though. I’m having a last dinner with the team tomorrow at this Chinese place and lunch with some friends I made at the Emerging Leaders Program. A word about that…any freshman that’s interested in leadership positions at Witt should look into it. The lectures aren’t as lame as you would think, and you actually meet a lot of people (such as the people I’m having lunch with tomorrow). Anyway, there’s really nothing else to say for now. So until next time…

Halloween!!

I left with my team Friday for our conference meet at Kenyon College. It sucks that I had to miss some classes again, but it doesn’t happen that often anyways. We all just hung out for most of the night playing “never have I ever,” sharing stories, etc. It probably sounds like a boring way to spend a Friday night but what can you do when you have a meet the next morning? Overall, we did pretty well. We’re not one of the top five teams, but according to coach he’s happy with our progress. Keyword is happy. The last thing anyone wants to face is a dissapointed coach. So what happened Saturday? There were a lot of Halloween theme parties. I’ve been meaning to get a costume for a while, and I was going to get one that day. Of course, I overslept (it’s amazing how tired races can make you) but still put together an impressive outfit.
