Things to count on:
The work load after Thanksgiving will be larger since there are 2 weeks left in the semester and before exam week.
Things not to count on:
Parking in Columbus. Let me expand. Recently, I went to Columbus for a concert (All Time Low) and I couldn’t find any parking. Eventually, I found a meter pay spot in Starbucks that had a 1 hour limit. Solution? I’ll run out every hour and refill the meter. However, if you choose this plan, make sure you find out if you can leave and come back in to the music hall before you enact this plan.
I hate parking in Columbus.

So again keeping it short, but I wanted to talk a little bit about the student run radio station here on campus.
Every Thursday from 10pm-midnight you should tune into WUSO 89.1 FM “The Berg.” I believe you can get a stream of it off of the Witt Website, maybe I will try to get a link up. Anyway, at that time is the Mike, Ed, and Joe Show, aka Real Talk. It is not really a talk show, but thats not important. Anyway, my buddies and I play music we have been listening to and want to share with the world.
We also have this segment called Quag’s corner, where our buddy Andy, aka Quagmire, gives a little advice to guys out there on relationships. We then play a special song for him that is his favorite song of the week. That song can be anything from Savage Garden to a Cascada cover of Sk8er Boi by Avril Lavigne.
That segment is at 11:15pm. Feel free to call in at 937.327.7030. And listen in!! I’ll get a video of what goes on down there and upload it as soon as I can.

So it feels good to be back to writing about my life here at Wittenberg.
I am going to keep it short for now just due to technical reasons (I hope this post works!!)
Anyway, I learned a very valuable lesson this week. No no no, it is not about the election. However, if you decide to play any intermural sports, do NOT take them lightly.
I played intermural indoor soccer Monday night. We had no subs and I haven’t done any kind of working out in months. The result = disasterous. I got back to my room Monday night and passed out in a heart beat. Take it seriously or you will be in physical pain!! These are my words of wisdom.

It’s officially my last weekend here at Witt as a freshman. And to tell you the truth, I’m kind of sad about it. I have a lot of really good friends graduating from here and it’s so sad to think that I will rarely see them for a long time. Not only that, 25% of my college career is over! I’ve had so much fun here and I’ve met so many cool people that I can’t believe how quickly it all went by and how I only have 3 more years left…
On the plus side, however, being home is going to be a really great change. While I’m gonna miss Witt, I finally will be able to catch up and see my old high school friends, not to mention my family. The summer is going to be great because I will also get to see all my Witt friends - I plan on going to Chicago to see the Warped Tour with some buddies. That is gonna be a blast.
Next year is also going to be a blast. I am able to go through recruitment and I plan on pledging a fraternity. I really can’t wait to get into Greek life, as I have a lot of friends involved with it. Also, how can I even deny, I can’t wait for Model UN! I am excited to be president and I hope we’re going a little more popular on campus. (By the way, you should join, it’s awesome!)
And how could I forget to mention, WittFest was last weekend! So we had concerts playing on the main stage in the Hollow all day long starting at around 10 a.m. While I didn’t get to see all the ones I wanted to, I did get to play in the giant inflatables and see one of my all time favorite bands, Cartel. Not only did I see them, but I actually was lucky enough to meet a few of them and hang out with them after the show. It was an amazing experience and I can’t wait ’til next year’s.
With all that said and done, it’s finals time. I have one final left and a lot of studying for it. This will be my last post of the year so I just wanted to say thanks for reading. ‘Til next time…

So here we are coming to the end of the year. There is less than one week of classes and then a week of exams and my freshman year is going to be over! Luckily my finals situation is easy, I have a 8 pager to polish up (take that procrastination!), a short test on Wednesday, another short test next Friday, and then my last final is the following Tuesday. I’m excited and I think I’m going to do well.
We did housing, and since my roommate and I had bad lottery numbers we didn’t actually get to pick a residence hall, but we landed in Tower, with which I am okay. Scheduling was a little hectic too, but I am satisfied with what I am in, specifically I am really excited for a journalism class I am going to be taking soon.
Otherwise on the social and other events side, I was fortunate enough to go to two sorority formals and I had an absolute blast at both of them. Ultimate Frisbee just picked back up, while late, and is still going to be a blast. Oh, and how could I forget…WittFest this weekend! We have an amazing line-up and I can’t wait to see Cartel. There is just going to be a huge stage in the hollow, our big field in the middle of campus, and I literally can’t wait!
Tell you about it next week….

Not really very much going on in my life. I am going to be the president of Model UN next year so I expect anyone who reads this to join, since it will be a lot of fun. I sign up for classes and do the housing lottery this Thursday. Exciting I guess. Even better is the nice weather we have been having. Over the last few days, I have been able to spend a lot of time outside, from studying to tennis to frisbee golf, it has been a nice treat.
More importantly is what has been going on around campus. Wittfest is coming up, which is exactly what it sounds like, a Wittenberg festival to relieve stress and just generally have a good time right before finals. Well, important to note is that we have one of my favorite bands, Cartel, coming to play for us. Absolutely free and a 5 minute walk from my dorm room. I am pretty excited. A stress free weekend.
Also this last weekend we had Kyle Cease preform in the student center. If you don’t know who Kyle Cease is, he is a comedian who was rated something like #7 in the Comedy Central Stand-up Showdown this year, which was better than Dane Cook mind you. I got really lucky cause when I got there late it was evident that no one had enough guts for the front row, expect me and my buddies of course. Kyle was hilarious and it was just a great time.
So that should cover just about everything. ‘Til next time.

So it has been a while, but wow.
So there was spring break…which was great to be home! Got to work up at my Barnes & Noble and just got to generally hang out. Nice and relaxing. Oh, but we did get some crazy thing like 20 inches of snow. That blizzard was not cool at all. Took me about an hour to shovel just the last 30ish feet to get my car out. Luckily though, the plows did a lot of work so the drive back down here to Witt was nice and easy. Even so, the snow-in was not cool at all. But I’m over it…
Then I came back for three days and headed to Columbus so I could go to San Francisco. Model UN is amazing. The trip was so much fun. It was a lot different than a lot of conferences I’ve been to (this was my sixth!) based on rules and manner. This one really wanted us to focus on sight-seeing. I saw Fisherman’s Wharf, Giradelli Square, the Golden Gate, and Alcatraz. Just an amazing time and the conference was a lot of fun too.
So then I recovered by coming back to celebrate St. Paddy’s Day. Unbelievable amounts of green, even the cafeteria was green and they had shamrocks everywhere. Then, I went home AGAIN for Easter. I haven’t spent a weekend at Witt in well over a month. I kinda miss it. I’m excited for this weekend, it’s gonna be fun. I have a formal to go to and then just relax.
So ’til next time….

Week 8 is a significant week. Half way through the second semester. It has been going by so quickly.
Got spring break next week. Not doing anything exciting but going back to home sweet home in Cleveland. Exotic, I know. I may visit a few friends of mine at other colleges while I don’t really have any other really big commitments. We have our spring break a week before most other colleges, which means I won’t see a lot of my friends until the 2nd weekend of break, so we’d better make it count.
Nothing else really has been going on. My sleeping and eating schedules are completely shot now. Seriously, don’t mess those up. Big mistake. I’m hoping to fix that all with break and all, cause in 48 hours I’ll be home and will be able to sleep all I want.
And sadly, I didn’t get the tour-guide job. Oh well, no big deal. Would have been fun but I’m over it. I have hours at my job up home next week so that’s always good. But really, studies here are all that have kept me busy.
So until next time…

Midterms are right around now. Let me be the first to say I’m not a big fan. I had a really big test in Sociology which I have yet to get back, but basically it was the first grade of the semester. That sort of worries me, especially since I’m not sure how I did on it yet. I did better than I hoped on my Philosophy exam, pulling off a B after an extremely difficult essay. Psych has been pushing it off, but I have a quiz tomorrow and a big exam next Thursday. And papers galore for my English 101 class.
On the plus side… Spring Break is right around the corner! The way I see it, one more busy weekend of studying until I go home. Unfortunately until then, I haven’t gotten much sleep. I usually take a nap sometime in the afternoon, but with other commitments I can’t, which makes doing my work harder, and makes more work for later. My own fault though, so I’m over it… for now…
Besides that it’s all prep for next year almost. Worrying about classes and pre-missing all the friends I’ve made who are going to be graduating. I’m also worried about finding a job for next year since I left the one I had first semester. I had my interview to be a tour-guide next year yesterday and I’ll hear back about that sometime this weekend, hopefully. Even so, I think I’d like to find another job with a few hours on the side. We’ll see though.
Til next time….

Not too much has been going on. Lots of studying. All my professors decided it would be best if they plummeted me with work all at once. I’m not a fan of that kind of collaboration. But that’s just me.
I was really sick last week, to the point where I couldn’t get out of bed. Had an absolutely terrible case of the flu. The health center here was really good about it, gave me a whole bunch of medication and stuff to try and make the symptoms disappear so I could still go to class even though I was realistically sick. I only missed one class, but my fever was around 101-102, so I don’t feel terrible and the prof gave me an excused, so it’s all good. Unfortunately, even though it’s all gone, I feel like I am getting a new case of a cold. Oh well, story of my life.
Besides that, I spent last weekend at Miami University visiting a high school friend. I had a good time, but in reality I have spent the last three weekends away. I almost forget how much I enjoy hanging out with my Wittenberg friends here on the weekends. I really can’t wait.
That’s pretty much it for now, just a lot of studying and a lot of fundraising for Model UN; baby-sitting this weekend for fund-raising. Yes! Kind of, not really, but I’m okay with it, not too bad of a commitment. California next month will be totally worth it.
So until next time…
