The game is changed. Now, I, Ed Aldrich, am a junior at Wittenberg University, and 5 weeks into the first semester.
For the first time, I am an upperclassman and it is great. I am living in an on-campus house, renting through Wittenberg’s own property. This is wonderful. Me and my buddy have our own place, with our own bedrooms, our own kitchen, our own bathroom. Privacy is at a higher level than ever and I actually live just a smidge closer to my academic buildings than ever. It is really nice to get up 5 minutes before class and still make it on time.
There are a few downsides, like we have to pay our bills. Eww that is not fun. Also, meals aren’t pre-prepared like they were when I lived in the dorms, now I actually have to make them. Food always tastes better when somebody else is cooking; universal truth.
However, I feel like I’m living the dream. Study, work, play. Wouldn’t have it any other way. And it’s nice to finally be back on campus from the summer, and now that all my freshman friends have their own houses, well, there isn’t too much more to say.
I miss the dorms in a weird way, having everyone so close and all that jazz. I’m happy where I’m at though.
