So yesterday was an amazing day.  I was rudely woken up by a loud text message around 7:08 A.M..  When I was finally able to roll out of bed and stumble towards my phone, I was delighted to learn that all classes were cancelled and all offices were closed (no work!) for the snow!  We probably had close to 6 inches of snow, 3/4 inches of ice, then another 2 inches of snow.

These events are rare, where the university closes for weather, and you have to do all in your power to enjoy every minute of it.  I used it to catch up on some extra sleep and play in the snow all day.  Some people were sledding down the Myer’s hall staircase and other people were making snow people.

The only downside of the weather is that my car is trapped in the parking lot, and it isn’t going to be moving anytime soon.  Oh well.

This is just about the first time I’ve been grateful of Ohio’s wacky weather.

Coming back after a long break is surprisingly easy.  Everything just seems to pick up right where it left off and everything moves extremely smoothly back into what a college kid calls life.  This last winter break is no exception.

This semester I will have my first night class, which runs on Monday nights for me.  It’s a very interesting subject, Cultural Anthropology, where we study indigenous peoples.  Night classes are very long, 3 hours a piece, but so far it seems as if it will be manageable.

Also over break, I finally decided what I want my major to be.  Political Science, which I will be declaring within a week.  What am I going to do with this major?  I’m not sure yet, we will cross that bridge when we come to it.  I’m glad I’ve finally gotten this far.

Lots of exciting things to look forward to this semester, including Wittfest at the end of the year.  So… keep an eye out.
