Our exciting conference season opened this weekend against the Earlham Quakers. The Tigers took the first three games, but were unable to finish the weekend strong dropping a tight game 4-3. The Tiger offence and pitching staff seemed to work together the first time this season and look to continue the momentum this Tuesday against the Muskies of Muskingham. Come out this weekend as we face Wabash in continued NCAC action.
We returned home from the beautiful weather early Sunday morning. As a team we struggled at times, but I feel like we also learned a lot about the team we have. Look for us to put the right pieces together and go on a winning streak these next few weeks. Conference games start this weekend against Earlham here in Springfield. Come on out and watch us play, you won’t be disappointed.

Spring break has officially started for the Wittenberg Tiger baseball team. Around 2p.m. eastern standard time, the team unloaded the bus and began practice at a local high school field. In no time, Tim Antil was found down in the bullpen pumping 90 to Matt Hampp. The rest of the pitchers took their bullpen and hitters took batting practice on the field.
On the eve of our first game, players have retired to their houses eagerly awaiting an early morning wake up call from Coach Lewis (Clement 2009). Tomorrow we face Mt. St. Joes, listen live with commentator Stu “The Goo” Hartenstein.

Tonight is our last winter practice before we head down to Florida. What a better way to finish a week where we were all slammed with midterms. Much excitement surrounds the team as we look forward to the week ahead of us. Check out the Florida 2009 section daily to catch all the news from our trip.
